Got a poser for you to exercise that part of your brain from the days of stereo installation. The radio/cd player in my car started acting up a few days ago. Its kind of odd, the AM frequency will not pick up a signal. I've scanned up and down the entire band and only get an occasional staticy hint of talking. If I switch over to FM, it works fine. Do you think that's a problem with my stereo, my car's antenna or the AM....signal tower things?

Sounds like an issue with your radio. Find someone else ( your girl, mom who ever ) and see if they are getting AM in your area. If they are then you know it is the AM tuner in your radio.

Yeah, I'm thinking its a loose wire. Every now and then a signal will fade back in for a few minutes then it disappears again. I think there's a faulty connection that's bumping in and out.
